FITS 25 – Sibiu International Theatre Festival

The Sibiu International Theatre Festival (FITS) is one of the world’s leading celebrations of performing arts, held annually in the historic city of Sibiu, Romania. 

Now in its 25th edition, FITS 25 brought together artists, performers, and visionaries from across the globe to share their craft, exchange ideas, and celebrate the transformative power of live performance.

Renowned for its vibrant energy and diverse programming, the festival spans theatre, dance, music, visual arts, and street performances — turning Sibiu into a living stage where cultures meet and creativity thrives.

With the generous support of the RCI Grant from the University of Michigan, I attended FITS 25 as the scenic designer for the production My Onliness, which had previously premiered twice in New York City and was invited to perform at the festival. 

Our production was featured on the opening day of the festival, marking a memorable start to this landmark edition.  

This website documents my journey through FITS 25 — from the opening day to the festival’s closing moments — through a collection of visuals and short essays. The folders include reflections and imagery from theatre, dance, music, and highlights, alongside my daily journal of photographs capturing the energy, artistry, and inspiration that defined this extraordinary experience.
